State Superintendent Visits Queen City STEM School

On Monday, Dec. 9, NC State Superintendent Mark Johnson visited Queen City STEM School to personally thank students and staff for their outpouring of holiday cards for troops this season.

"More than 50,000 holiday cards are now on their way to servicemen and servicewomen stationed overseas during the holiday season. The card drive, initiated by State Superintendent Mark Johnson, asked schools, churches, civic groups and others to send in cards or letters for distribution to those serving. During the two-week drive, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction received packages full of cards from all over North Carolina. Cases of cards are now on their way to the Pentagon to be sorted and distributed to servicemen and servicewomen who will be away from home over the holidays." - NC Department of Public Instruction

Great work, QCSS Lions!
